In fair weather i always setup the superfly in porch mode 1st, with ridgeline high for lots of space for my head, i.e. no bent neck. Then if it looks like rain/ice/snow i lower everything. Would probably also do so for privacy if not in remote wilderness but woodland critters never complain when i change clothes. I posted a few photos already will post more, but am on sphone now. Check out my HF profile and Facebook Ken Liedtke or 100's of other photos and videos by other people. Porch mode works great you just need practice to go up and down fast as weather changes. BTW i often carry extra Easton nanolite poles i got cheap on fleabay (tip from HF) but rarely use due to nearby branches and sticks in the bush as seen in WB video, always pack a buck saw or machete! To raise up the ends for porch mode AND side panel pull outs, i still have photos on camera not uploaded from fishing/canoe trip down TX Sabine River last weekend that shows this. Ground was all torn up by wild boars but none came at night and took a bite out of my soft-side. The camo superfly works! joking, hogs smell just fine.

This is NOT the best way to set up in porch mode just how i did it in this particular situation, was in a hurry to go join my friends for campfire discussions and sun was setting. Bright colored guylines work well when not trying to stay hidden. Dark Arborist throw line otherwise (Samson® Lash-It).

I can't add much other than I am a newb who was desperate for info too. I was about to pull the trigger on a cheap tarp just to get an idea of what I wanted ect, this forum completely sold me on the Superfly!! I ordered last Monday and it shipped on Friday, according to the tracking number I should have it tomorrow, so excited and happy that I decided to go with the Superfly. Really looking forward to getting in the woods with it!!
Not long enough imo.... got mine today and while it's a very nice piece of kit, I would like if the sides were another 3 ft on each side.
I like to hang my tarp high and park my motorcycle under when porched. If I hang the tarp 6' high it'll be several ft from the ground.
Its plenty big to provide protection for the hammock and sleeping but not so much for privacy if I have motorcycle gear under the tarp.
May have to modify it and add some vertical side panels.
A superfly is really good for those times that you think it won't rain but it may
