Well i been whanting to git into hammock camping as when i go hiking with my family, " 2 adults, 4 kids" well i been working on building a bridge hammock and after a month of figouring it out how to make the base i am rethinking about maken my own. So i was wanting your guys inpuy on grand trunk skeeter beeter hammock, the price seems cheeaper than what i can make it for. Found them for $42.00 with straps and rope. Any help would be nice only have about a month till we be out on the trails.
Sounds like a good start to me. I started with a Grand trunk UL. Think of it as a very small investment. You will need some insulation so a sleeping bag and pad will do to start. Happy Hanging!

I have to git 6 of them for the family, so i should change the rope to strapes.
I am in the same boat. Trying to rig up some hammocks for my family and friends. Need about 6-8. Made a couple of table cloth hammocks and they are ok. I still have to figure a suspension that is affordable along with some kind of tarp.
Search for the DIY table cloth hammocks, might be a more affordable choice for you.

Well i been reading about the table cloth hammock, its all sounds good but cant find the stuff to make it. I am going to do some more looking on line and in stores around were i live but all i been finding is cloth. I did find a hammock from walmart were i live for 23.00 that looks like its ok. It is rated for 250 lb. Made from taffeta. Thay have them on walmart.com but we stock them in store also. Might start ther, buy me some woppies,and a bug net that will work for this hammock. This is all new to me i am just trying to do this and keep cost down as i have to do this in large numbers as this is a family thing.

I like it plenty. Really couldn't imagine any hammock offer too much more...
Be aware that it comes with ropes, but you will need some kind of tree straps. Pretty easy to do using cheap ratcheting straps and cutting the buckle off.
You will also need some kind of tarp, and you will likely eventually be lured to an underquilt eventually... though there are cheap-ish ways to do all of these too. Just make sure you realize there are a few "pieces" you will need... Its easy add up money on the little things so if you haven't look for Shugs videos ( https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=15516 ) and make sure you know all of what your budgeting for.
