Not Hammock suspension but lots of other suspension. They're fine for what they are. Their biggest weakness is they tend to suffer after repeated opening and closing, thread strip etc. They are mostly made for semi-permanent use. The US or French made ones are better. The chinese ones tend to have very thing coatings, shallow cut threads that strip more easily. And if you're using them even close to their SWWL they have a nasty tendency to lock closed and need a wrench to be loosened. Plus, pretty much every manufacturer will tell you they are meant to hold "things", not people.
That said, have I hung on them and built TR anchors from them? Yep, repeatedly. And they're cheap.

By comparison, the cheapest actual climbing carabiner you can find relatively easily Costs only about $6 and is rated at 24kN, or roughly 5400# ( I know I know, kn's are a measurement of force not weight but it's a good enough ballpark for these purposes ) and weighs only 50 grams. Plus it's all aluminum and will never seize or rust. And they are made specifically to prevent plumetting death.

    My DIY progress for four

I just made my bugnet out of the Walmart curtains, not bad at all, but the 2 curtains are just a bit to short for my hammock, it's 14 feet long, so I am going to make another with 3 curtains, and save the one I made for another hammock.

Re: My DIY progress for four

So I got all the hammocks hung and ridge lines set. So now I can continue on with bug net construction. But I have a design issue And hopefully you all can guide me on it. My wife's hammock ridge line was set more to the 88-90 percent and that is how she was confortable . So with a ted net design the net will be really close to her face since the ridge line is so low. And to top it all off she is a little on the claustrophobic side. So has anyone have any ideas I was thinking of just running another ridge line just for the net higher up to give her room.

Maybe just extend the length of the hammock with a large loop of amsteel on each end of the hammock then run a longer ridgeline between the amsteel loops?

That should give you a higher rl but will decrease hanging options a little because of the extra lengths.

Another option I can think of is trying an sls (single line suspension (don't know if you've spotted any of those threads yet)). You should be able to figure something out with an sls variant.

Good to see you are still making progress buddy.

A couple mitten hooks on the outside of the net to hang it on a continuous tarp ridge line strung under the tarp?

OK got the net done for one. Going to hang it tomorrow and see how it does but looks like it will do. As for the material I used , I have no clue it was unmarked dollar bin at wally so I have no clue but it is like panty hose in a way. A little stretchy but breathable and the holes are around the same size as the curtains. Here are the pics.

Oh yeah did some stoves to. Two super cats , two water bottle, bag for the Stanley set, two wind screens made from cheap cookie sheets, and grabbed two 4 oz bottles.
Testing showed the super cat is faster to boil and lighter so it win a place in the bag. Lol one 4 oz bottle is enough fuel for me to make 4 mountain house meals for everyone. I have to still go pick up another Stanley for the wives bag so we can make two meals at a time.
