Man its been a rough week at work but tgif tomorrow. This weekend I am going to make way on this adventure.

But on a side note while driving down the rode do you ever find yourself looking a trees and trying to judge if they are a good spot for a hammock

Yes! Don't worry, you know it's bad when you have paced the trees in your work car park so you know which ones you can hang from... even though you have no intention of ever hanging there! I fear there is no hope for me :banghead: lol

Re: My DIY progress for four

The last couple nights since I haven't made any progress on making the gear I have been researching ideas for making gear and need some advice on tarps... I know I will make a total of 4 tarps. 2 summer/ dry to light rain tarps and 2 winter / heavy rain tarps with doors. I plan on hanging the boys together under one roof and hanging the wife and I together. So my big question is tarp size for two hammocks and the hammocks are 118 inches flat which hanging is going to be around 8 feet. So for the summer tarp I was leaning to a 6 sided tarp setup with a base measurement of 12 x 12 and a winter setup of a rectangle 12 x 16 with added door flap on the head side of hammock since there will be two hammocks.

    Any ideas?

OK got back to it and started to redo my hammock sack and this is what I came up with for easy use.... probably will move to a snake skin design in the future but is functional for now. It opens from both ends and has the tree hugger available for easy access.. once you open it and pull the tree huger out it will pull out the whoopie sling the hammock. And on to the pics.that is a 16.9 oz bottle

The other three are roll hemmed. Check out my stitches...my wife has been busting my balls about me set aside a day to sew. Out of thread right now so the bags will have to wait till I run to town( an hour away) which might wait till Monday for that.

also on the quick links, just make sure you have pliers. I always carry a multi tool and don't use the pliers much , well lets just say they got a good workout.
