    Zing it as hammock ridgeline

I've been wanting to change my hammock ridgleline from amsteel to 1,75 samson zing it. Main reason is that I've bought a titanium ridgeline biner from dutch so that I can take the ridgeline down when I'm chillen during the day. I don't have a second amsteel cord that is long enough so that I can use it with the biner without shortening the current ridgeline.

If I were to shorten the ridgeline by 3-4" would that have a big impact on my lay?

Would the zing it be to thin?

The hammock is wb xlc 1,9sl multicam
    I'm 6.2 180pounds

To shorten the ridgeline by 3-4 inches will change the way the hammock feels. At least it has for me. That may not be bad if you are setting up your hammock too taught and having difficulty laying across the diagonal.

But if you already have the feeling you want, then use the Zing-it. I use Zing-it for my structural ridge line and it is plenty strong for that purpose.
Mine plays about a middle C when I pluck it, so it is fairly tight.

Re: Zing it as hammock ridgeline

I've been using a 1.75 zing it whoopie sling and haven't had any issues with it. Now I did have issues making that whoopie sling, I had to redo the bury a few times to get the length right. That had to do with my backwards thinking and lack of planning.

    Talking Lash-it SRL

I use Lash-it 1.75 for my SRL, one side fixed one side adjustable. Works very well.

I used the 1.8mm tech-line for a while as my SRL and it worked great. Right now I'm using 1.2mm tech-line as my SRL and it's also held up great so far. However, I only weigh ~145 so I'm on the lighter side.
