The clip on tarp pull outs weigh just under 4 grams (that is the clip and the donut). The 10 or so feet of 3/32" shock cord weighs in at around 13 grams (1.3g/ft). for a total weight of 17 grams per side or 34g for a set of two. FYI these are sold in as a set of two, there has been a few questions on this.

One more thing to add to my "Must Have" list!
Dutch - any idea if they would work to hold an REI emerency blanket (space blanket attached to a piece of thicker plastic - like the ripstop on those cheap tarps) to a blank from DIY? I would push both pieces through with the male end and pull tight with the female end.
Wondering if the thickness would be too much?

When needed, I've used them on my rain fly and on my sock...they work great.
Thanks Dutch.
Mountnman, I used mine at -20F last winter and again at -15F this winter, with lots of wind. I have had no problems with them getting brittle or moving around.
I really appreciate using them in fact. I can switch them around to provide extra pull on one side or another, depending on how strong the wind is.
Depending which hammock i use I can move them in our out from the edge. very versatile and easy to clip on the tarp. If I don't need them I just put them in my ditty bag.
They are great to pull out different areas of the tarp even if your tarp has side pull outs or to add a middle tie out in between the corner tie outs.
