Question Yukon Outfitters tarp form WOOT question

so i finally received my tarp today in the mail. i'm getting ready to hang it in the yard but my question is, if you have one, did you have to seal the seams on it? i know a lot of people said that they did not have to waterproof it, but i haven't seen anything about the seams. i have only been able to briefly look at the forums lately because of a super busy schedule so pardon me if it WAS posted and i missed it. thank you in advance for your help.

I tried mine right out of the stuff sack last week camping and it rained 1/3 of an inch overnight and I remained dry. I might look into seam sealing now but for the light amount of rain I experienced it seemed to hold up just fine.

i attached some pictures of it. ignore the lazy tie outs. i just tied it up enough to seal the seams. but i also hung it low due to using my fence posts haha. but it covers my ENO SN very well with a foot on each end to spare. i was able to easily reach up and touch it from within my hammock. and of course, my dog found it to be pretty decent too.

anyways, i sealed it so i am letting it sit and dry for a while before "stuffing" it back into it's "stuff"sack. i guess we will find out if i'm the only one able to stuff it successfully WITH the stakes and guylines. i can say this though, i will be using different stakes that i already have and i will be upgrading the guy lines. it's supposed to rain here in pittsburgh, all week. so the ultimate test is upon me!

    Yukon Rain Outside.jpg
pretty waterproof right out of the bag
    Yukon Rain from inside.jpg
rain droplets from inside, no seepage through the material. stayed dry for the 20 min that it rained with decent wind gusts.

i know a lot of people are asking for specifics about this tarp, so if i can answer any other questions for any of you, let me know.

mine was out last week in the backyard (no tree cover over it) when we got 4-6" of rain in 10 hours. The tarp did go slack on one side, because the lawn chair I had looped one of the guylines on moved. But it stayed dry underneath anyways.

edit.. this was the same storm:

If you're worried, pitch it out and give it a hose treatment simulate heavy rain, see how it goes.

holy crap! i'd say it's a pretty decent rainfly to hold up against THAT! glad you're safe. its been storming here on and off all day so far. hoping for dryness underneath.
