    which one works for you?

I sleep on my stomach with a bit of a ballerina thing going on with my legs (they're not shaved or excessively limber, just one foot pulled up to the opposite leg's knee). I know there are tons of questions on here about the right hammock for your sleeping style, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for, hence the new thread.

I understand a bridge hammock may help those sleeping on their belly and a WBBB or Dangerbird may be good for those side sleepers. I love my gathered end rigs, but I don't usually sleep through the night, because I can't stay comfortable (I toss and turn normally). Also, I sleep with my pillow on top of my arm and that arm usually falls asleep due to the gathered end.

Just looking for hammock suggestions to help me sleep through the night.

It's called the figure 4 position and lots of us sleep in one variation or another of it.

I can *almost* get there in my Ridgerunner, but it requires me lifting the bent knee and setting it on the edge of the fabric. Doable, but not terribly comfortable long term as that hem starts to dig into the skin after a while. Remember the pain from underwear elastic too tight on your waist? Same thing.

I can get in a lazy figure 4 OK in it, but not as well as in my gathered-ends. Doesn't really help you, but....

Yep, things that hadn't been named he helped name.

What do you expect he has one of the extremely rare Warbonnet El Dorados (Doradoes?).

Like Cannibal said you can almost get there in the RR. I sleep F4 most of the time at home and can get close enough I the RR for me to get a good sleep on in it. I can get more F4 in the BB though but I often feel like my side is a bit hyper extended....perhaps the XL BB would work better....I have yet to try one though so that just a guess.

Though I am not a side or stomach sleeper....I did demonstrate those styles on this video of the Wilderness Logic's Snipe hammock. You can see it at 2:35 on the video below. All of their hammocks are long and may work well for you.

What I find interesting is that I never sleep on my back in a bed but always sleep that way in a hammock. That leaves me thinking that the best thing to do is try one and see how you sleep.

Of course when I sleep in the hammock nobody is sticking an elbow into my ribs to roll over because I'm snoring either. ;-))
    YMMV

In a bed, I'm a side sleeper and sometimes a stomach sleeper. When I started sleeping in hammocks I tried to treat it like a bed, but could never get a good night's sleep. I gradually realized that it's not a bed and stopped trying to treat it like one.

Hammocks just provide a different type of sleep that took some getting used to, for me. My bed sleep is more coma-like; I'm dead to the world. Whereas, the hammock sleeping experience is much lighter.

In a bed, I change positions often because my back, knees or hips start hurting. In a hammock, I have no such discomfort so I don't move much at all. I mostly sleep on my back in the hammock, with my head tilted to the side so I don't snore. Sometimes I roll onto my side, sometimes a figure 4, but not often.

I'm glad I finally accepted that it's two different kinds of sleep. Otherwise, I'd be out there still trying different hammocks trying to get the sleep I'm used to in a bed. The bed sleep wasn't all that great anyway.
