Yeah ... need higher scape velocity. I'm currently tipping the scales at 290.
Good news though is it means I can pretty much ignore all the "ultralight" hoohah. A few more ounces to a guy like me?

    Heck, that's just lunch

===> Hehehe....agreed! 290 isn't TOO bad! My buddy is 450+ and blots out the Sun! You should just get a double layer 1.7 or 1.9 oz hammock, and join the craziness with us. LOVE to have ya! Maybe just drop by a hang and check-out a lot of different rigs and set-ups, meet some of us, and go from there.

Definitely will try. Always looking to meet other people to camp with outside the scout circles. Won't be a day though, if I make a 2+ hour drive I'll be sleeping, even if it's just in the boring old tent

    Welcome to Tent Talk!

Until you get to stitching all that rip-stop together, someone surely must have a Tableclothfactory.com set-up sitting around, you could use.

They are very reasonable "starter" hammocks. Comfortable. A nice prep to making hammocks. Already hemmed, just whip, and add suspension. In your weight specs.

Careful with the paracord though. Whip maybe, but way too stretchy. Not suitable for our suspension uses.

Do not pass on a local hang due to lacking equipment. Let people know. Bring what you need to keep warm and dry. You'll be surprised at what might show up to "aid" your ground experience

OK... no paracord, check...and now before I've even spent one night hanging, I'm planning tarps and hammock tweaks and trying to decide on ridgelines...

    Again, Dang you all!
And especially Shug! Dang you most! Your vids are addictive! Thanks!
