Maybe just drop by a hang and check-out a lot of different rigs and set-ups, meet some of us, and go from there.

Until you get to stitching all that rip-stop together, someone surely must have a Tableclothfactory.com set-up sitting around, you could use.
They are very reasonable "starter" hammocks. Comfortable. A nice prep to making hammocks. Already hemmed, just whip, and add suspension. In your weight specs.
Careful with the paracord though. Whip maybe, but way too stretchy. Not suitable for our suspension uses.
Do not pass on a local hang due to lacking equipment. Let people know. Bring what you need to keep warm and dry. You'll be surprised at what might show up to "aid" your ground experience

OK... no paracord, check...and now before I've even spent one night hanging, I'm planning tarps and hammock tweaks and trying to decide on ridgelines...
