It can also be a wind block or more like a breeze block if placed at one end of the tarp with the SEEP open and tied off on the tarp ridgeline.
Those are two ingenious ways to hang the Gear Box, Muse! I'll have to give them a try.

I know Loki has a cool way to use his. Anyone else found a new way to hang their Gear Box?

Never leave for the trail without my Molly Mac Gear Box!

When I set up camp, I just try to strategically set it up where my gear box is close at hand. Of course sometimes the forest doesn't cooperate, but most times it does.

    Here is an example.

It's a mini hammock for stowing your pack and gear keeping it off the ground and dry.

    Mac,
Putting the Gear Box at the foot end of the tarp was more necessity than it was a conscious effort. I didn't have my poncho, so I used what I had. If I get out sometime this week, I will get a couple pics and post them here.
*I would also like to see other options.

A Gear Box is a silnylon gear hammock made on the model of the Molly Mac Gear Hammock Sock with SEEP, so that it has a top that drapes over it to keep rain and snow out. It is made with plenty of baggy-ness so that it will hold an entire backpack and it's contents, even with gear exploded.

I'm visualizing hanging it under my hammock and UQ. Wondering if I did so, and put my pack and it's exploded contents in it, could I hang my hammock at seat height? Could I attach it to the hammock'e suspension? Thanks.

Is this this similar to what I've seen that hangs under hammocks to store gear?

Yes, and yes. You could let the gear hammock drag on the ground without ill effect because it's silnylon.

Could be... but this is meant to hang independently, or under the hammock, or anywhere you want. If it's snowing, I like to put it outside the tarp.
