    DIY Custom Reflectix Pad

    Hey y'all,

I just finished a DIY pad for myself. It is a total of 78" long and 24" wide. I cut the reflectix material into 8 - 10"x24" pieces. I sewed baffles into the material and then slid the reflectix into them. I then sewed the baffles up and put a nice hem on it. I then left the last baffle empty. I put some velcro on the inside so that it can be closed up. This baffle can be filled with clothes to turn it into a pillow.

I found that this pad can be packed up in three ways. You can fold the baffles up to close the pad and tie it off, you can roll it up and tie it off, or you can fold the baffles up and then fold it in half and then tied off.

I used a slightly more durable fabric this time but I am sure if I switch over to ripstop nylon or silnylon, I can shave a lot of weight off of this pad. I just need to go buy more.

Anyway, at this point the pad weighs in at 1lb 8oz.

Going to use it tonight! I am also pairing it with the Walmart OT down bag to see how they both are together.

    That looks great!

So, Reflectix will hold the weight of a man sleeping on it?

This kept me really warm last night. It got down to about 35* and I was pretty warm. Not overly toasty, which for me was great!
