Shuttle From Marta North Springs

    Hey All

I am looking for a reliable and affordable Shuttle to Amiacola Falls for an AT Hike.

I had to change my plans from April Start to May Start and will be in Atlanta, GA on the 15th of May.

The Hiker Hostel stops thier Thru Hiker Special in April and that it was I had originally planned, but now with a May Start I am looking for another alternative if possible

    Thanks

You can try Survivor Dave at 678-469-0978.

I have not shuttled with him, but he was working the last couple of times I was in the area this past year.

    Thanks Doodad

I saw his number listed , but was hoping that someone has had someone that they have used ,I would hate to get down there and find out this guy was not going to show

I will give him a call and get a feel for his attitude and such.

    Parked Vehicle at Amiacola Falls

On both my 2004 & 2005 Thru Hike I parked my vehicle at Amiacola Falls. $2 for a year.

Getting back to Amiacola Falls from Maine is the tough part. I did the bus to train, to bus to train to hitchhiking.

May 15th is a late start for sure. Do you plan on doing a Flip Flop at Harpers?

Have a great time out there. I'll be there again in 2014.

    Thanks for the info.......

Peanuts I spoke with him today and I am calling him back tonight when he is at Home he was on a Shuttle when I called

Well my goal is to start and continue on as long and as far as my Wife will let me GO
I Told Her I would stop when she wanted me back at Home

If I go all the way I will probably have to Flip Flop due to BSP and Kathadin and the late start.

Since I had to post pone my start Day (originally was to be April 5th)(My B-Day)

I did Harpers Ferry to Duncannon last year so I could skip that section on this hike and still register a Thru and I would be Happy with doing that since it could save me over a week on the trail and that might be the difference in Making it before BSP closes and The Winter Weather shows back up.

    Just a Thought

Here's a thought. If you get to Harpers Ferry, you can take a train to Wash DC, & from there a train to Boston. Take the bus from Boston to Hanover, NH and do NH & Maine. A lot of people will be hitting that area at that time, so you could connect with a number of Thru Hikers to Kathadin. Then, try and get a ride back to Hanover, NH and hike south to Duncannon if time permits.

I had a ton of backup plans when I did my 1st thru hike. The one thing you have is time to think about it once you start.

Just get out there and have a great time. How you do it is up to you.
