The words "good walleye population" has my ears perked.!

Having considered all of the responses to my request for dates for a hang, I am going to make an executive decision to hold the hang the weekend of May 10-12. In doing so, I am sorry for the conflict this creates with Mother's Day, or for anyone else who can't make it that weekend for any other reason. No matter what weekend we pick somebody will have a conflict, so we have to choose one. Given the current weather conditions here (last night 5 deg. F), I am reluctant to set an earlier date. I cannot set a later date due to work commitments.
I am also going to narrow down the possible venues to Star Lake or the Fish Trap Lake/High Lake dam area. For now, I am eliminating Nixon Lake as a possible site due to potential walk-in access problems and questions about whether camping is still allowed at the water access sites. Nixon Lake is now a State Natural Area, and special restrictions may apply.
Please vote, if you are so inclined, for either of the two remaining hang sites. I want to make a final decision soon so that people can begin making plans. Thanks.
The only person to express a preferance on the venue for the hang has been Lorax. Please let me know if you prefer one site or the other so I can decide on a final location. Thanks.
i vote star lake.

I'm not really voting for a preference as I would only maybe join up with you guys for a one night deal due to work, and that's a big maybe.
I was just adding insight into what the trail is like across from Dam Rd on the Lumberjack Trail for those unfamiliar with it.
I'm interested in coming to this, but I've never been before... as a new hanger what should I expect? What do I need (besides my hammock, tarp, UQ, TQ) to have a successful first hang this early in the season? Do you also welcome tent campers (my brother might be interested, but doesn't have the gear)?
