    Smile It's new adventure time

    Hi everyone,

I've been lurking the forum for a few weeks, but thought it was time to say HI!!!

My friend Throkda showed me his setup and I've been thinking about it for months. I'm a big guy, 6'4" 400#, so I had my reservations about how any hammock would hold up. I started looking into getting a Kammok because of the specs allowing for up to 500#. I put it off over the winter because funds were too short to get all the gear, UQ, OQ, Tarps, etc. But the REI dividend and the members 20% off sale and the gift certificate I had all hit at the right time. So I finally picked up an ENO double nest and gave it a try.

I need to find time and a place to be in it for an extended time (more than 15 minutes). Unfortunately, I don't have any trees in my back yard that I can hang from. I made a Turtledog Stand, but that didn't work out so well. I'll post more about that on The Turtledog Stand post.

Looking forward to many happy hangs.

Welcome to the forum! We'll just have to spend some time experimenting at Cedar Hill State Park one of these weekends...

Welcome! That Eno double will serve you well. I have had the same double for many years and I am a big guy as well. Never even had a scare in my Eno with 7/64 amsteel.

    Welcome, Pinewood!

My younger son is big like you and loves to lounge in a hammock, usually with a book. I'd be interested in your results and hope everything works out as you imagine. This is a great place to learn things and make new friends.
