    First solo overnighter.

Finally got out for my first solo! Short hike into the woods on my gun clubs' property. Got out there about 4pm Sat and set up. Ended up moving to a better spot due to thorn trees in the area.

Wanted to try out my new Ti Element stove with the grill top... worked fine, steak was yummy, cooked fast.

Still working on lightening my pack. Even though I had the base weight down to 22lbs, I still managed to bring at least 30lbs. A work in progress.....
Woke up to coyotes yodeling away Easter morning. Got very good coverage on the WBRR w/ the Superfly. The doors close well with just a small gap. Feet got just a little cold, but I had lighter socks and no hot water bottle. 40*sleeping bag, 20* torso length lynx.

Packed up and headed out to get a shower and breakfast.
    Frosty pond on the way.

Way to go Civetta. That is awesome. Steak on the wood burning stove is very yummy. Had that last weekend at a backpacking trip. How are you liking the ridge runner?

Nice job on the first solo. The site and setup looks great. And steak on the Element - looks tasty.

For my feet, I put a small pad inside the foot end of my sleeping bag/TQ, and that has helped me. I wouldn't go thick/tight on socks - I found that leads to less circulation and colder feet.

Sounds like a very successful trip. Beautiful area. So if your going to pack in a steak you should have packed in some bacon to wrapp that bad boy in. Thanks for sharing

Nice work on the solo! I didn't realize that I'd like going solo so much, but it really is a different adventure when you're all alone. Though I do still freak myself out sometimes in the dark........

Still messing with mine also. I figure out something with each hang. I saw your video.....you must have been trying very hard to flip out, because I've had mine turned sideways staring right at the ground and I didn't fall.

    Thanks for reading.
