    "Here is Tennessee's response : Post 99 of this thread : https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...2&postcount=99

I have received an answer to your inquiry concerning the use of a hammock in State Parks. I am going to place the response, that was sent to me, below. Once again, please let me know if you need further assistance.

"We do not have anything in our rules and regulations that would prevent hammock camping in our campgrounds. The only requirements would be that the campsite have trees within the rented space to accommodate the activity so they would not encroach onto another site, and that they not damage the trees by using too narrow of a strap."

    Thank You:

Yes, you can use hammocks in remote backpacking campsites, such as George H. Crosby Manitou, as long as you are not injuring the trees.

I too have used a hammock in established campgrounds in Minnesota in full view of rangers and never had a problem. The relevant rules on the subject here are:

M.R. 6100.0900(1): "Unless otherwise provided by law, no person in a state park or forest recreation area shall disturb, destroy, injure, damage, deface, molest, or remove any state property, including, but not limited to, wildflowers or vegetation of any kind dead or alive, ruins, wild animals, geological formations, historical or archaeological artifacts or sites, historic structures, signs, or facilities, except edible fruit, mushrooms, legally taken wild animals, and vegetation unavoidably damaged or destroyed by the ordinary recreational uses of these areas as specifically permitted by parts 6100.0100 to 6100.2400."

M.R. 6100.1250(1)(A): "A campsite's occupancy is limited to one camping group of six people or less, one camping shelter, and one vehicle. Additional persons, shelters, or vehicles are permitted only with prior approval of the park manager. These limits do not apply in designated group camping areas."
So, like many of the other states, Minnesota doesn't have anything specific to say about hammocks, just that you can't misuse them in a way that injures the trees, just like anything else (eg. lanterns). You'll also need to ask first if you want to put multiple hammocks up in a site.

Getting the link to the spreadsheet into the first post would also be GREAT.
