Purple Palace!!!

Well finally tonight I finished Lilprincess' Purple Palace. This is the biggest project I have done to date. I feel real proud on how it came out. One of the last things that I need to do is put it under a hose and see what might leak, then use some seam sealer.
Now Lilprincess has a complimenting tarp for her hammock "The Purple People Eater" an 11' DIY gathered end Hammock coming in at about 15 oz. with all suspension. The video is on my YouTube channel. The Palace tarp is basically a superfly clone. the dimensions are slightly different because my lack of skill but it has a 12' ridge-line with 4 doors and 4 side pullouts. All said and done with all suspension it comes in at 22.6 oz. Not bad for a full winter tarp. Here are some pictures though when the weather corporates a little better I will do a short video on it. In the pictures the color is off so check out the link and you will see the real color. The Color is dk. Purple in 1.1 ripstop silnylon.

Nice Job! How did you do the ridge line? I have a Superfly but would like to make one for my son.

That is one perfectly purple palatial palace. Guess everyone will know where lilprincess's house is.

Just wait till she sees my current DIY, you might be in for a bit more sewing once I finish and post it up.

Got to say Nighthauk, that's a mighty fine looking rig! You are definitely livin' large in your daughter's eyes. Bet she's real proud of her papa.

Home Run I am sure that I would be living large in my daughter's eyes if I had one. Nope this sucker is for my wife. However my wife should be really proud of her hubby.

I guess I should have clarified that earlier.

If you take a close look at you superfly I mimicked that as best as I could. Out of the entire project that will be my one concern. Not for structural integrity but water leaking trough. What I did was sewed one seam down the length then flipped it over and sewed the grosgrain over it. The one thing I did do with the grosgrain was to iron it in half so there was a crease in it. Then I used alligator binder clips to hold everything in place as I sewed it. Hope that is clearer than mud. Lol.
