    New Setup Pictures

    Hey Everyone,
After some great advice from this forum, I picked up the WBBB DL 1.1, the WB Mambajamba tarp, and the HG Burrow 20. They are all amazing, thanks guys.

Just wanted to post up some pictures of my first hang. This was about 40 minutes above Boulder, CO in the mountains. Weather ranged from 60 and sunny, to brief blizzard conditions, to low visibility fog. Cool day! For anyone that is interested I did use a sleeping bag rigged up as an UQ and a pad as well. I will hopefully be getting a HG Phoenix 20 soon to go with my Burrow.

Had to dig out some snow and used it to build a snow wall on the windward side:

i was wondering how the sleeping bag worked for a quilt? I plan on doing the same thing my first couple times out also. the UQ are a little spendy but I will deffenetly get one.

    Faussett,
Last weekend I didn't plan ahead in the UQ department too well. All we had on us was paracord, so I attempted to rig up an UQ using this. It didn't go well. I stayed relatively warm underneath if I was on the pad, but I would slip off and I would get chilly. I have a mummy shaped bag and they are a little harder to work with as well. Bottom line is it is almost impossible to keep the UQ taught to the hammock while rigging with paracord!

I did however just pick up 100ft of 1/8th shock cord and rigged up the UQ last night in my back yard with that. I just went old school and lashed to shock cord to the sleeping bag using fabric pulled around small rocks. For the ends of the UQ I went through my hammock suspension buckles to keep it tight lengthwise. I also used one length in the middle right below the foot box. This setup worked really well and I will hopefully be testing with just the UQ soon. Hope this helps!

    Brute,
Not to offend, but I would take Denver's weather over South Texas any day. Last year our hottest day was 98, went up into the mountains and 75. Also, it was 72 in Boulder yesterday too! Gotta love it.

That is a nice area - we need more mountains out this way!
