I finally got out for my first backpacking trip with my WB BB 1.1dbl, LeighLo 66" 30* w/ 1 oz o/s, golite 1+ quilt and mammajamba.
Temps got down into the mid/upper 30s in Harriman SP and the only thing that got even the slightest bit cold was my nose. The Blackbird is just an amazing hammock and for me at 5'6", I could sleep in a variety of comfortable positions. Leigh's UQ was also excellent and a great compromise of size, weight and temp rating. Leigh's suspension, with a little tweaking, was great and held in place with no gaps and minimal moving around. The TQ is a golite 1+ season but it is so stuffed with fill, I think it can go well into the upper 20's. The Mammajamba stayed in the snakeskin above my cozy pod.
The most comfortable night I have EVER had out in the woods! No sore back in the morning, no waking up in the middle of the night with my entire arm asleep. The toughest part about this setup for me was getting up and out in the morning! That has never been the case with a tent for me - more like can't wait for the sun to come up so I can get out, and off the cold, hard ground.
My wife now calls it my man pod, and I think that name will stick.
