So last fall I made a gathered end hammock and gave it a whirl on a snow camping trip. This was my first attempt at sleeping in a hammock and realized that I need to keep my feet more level. I needed a footbox. I didn't look into putting one in at first to keep things simple, but now I realize I need one.
I've searched around and been reading a lot, but I'm still kind of confused on how to build one. I'm also wondering - can I use my existing hammock and just add in a footbox or do I need to start from scratch? The existing one is just a rectangle piece of fabric.
I'm not yet certain what I plan to do about bug protection, so I'm not really thinking about trying to add a zipper on there and zip in a bug net. Was just going to drape one over me and cinch underneath if I could.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch. Hoping to get this added this week if I can.
