I am new to all this and not very knot-savvy.
My 3-season yeti came with an extra loop of shock cord to help with use on 11' hammocks. I was thinking just larks head (the only 'knot' I know) but this seems like it'd be easy to slip off without my noticing during setup/takedown.
What is the best way to securely attach this loop to the yeti?
Larks head should work well enough though you are right in that you may need to watch it. A prussik may work better in retention in that it has extra loops around to keep it in place.

If you choose to attach this extra loop to the end of the suspension opposite the knot (the foot end), you could use a larks head knot just fine. You will discover if you complete the larks head knot with the loop, you can can fold back the part that goes over the two lines and it becomes a square knot (reef knot), which obviously won't slip.Originally Posted by chrickso
