Got the chance to take my Dad and Uncle to the Flat Laurel Creek Trail for a quick little trip. Originally we were supposed to camp two nights, but an unexpected ice storm at that elevation changed our plans a bit Still, we got to get out on Friday morning and hiked in the clouds and ice covered trees. Made it to camp just in time for the sun to come out Hiked up to the little valley right below Sam Knob, and enjoyed a sunset on the creek. Got down to the low 20s Saturday early am, coldest night yet in the hammock, with only my feet getting a little chilly. Reason #10 I need that new full length down uq
Definitely my Dad's first time in temps that cold and his third time hammock camping, and my Uncle's very first. They say they want to go again, so I call that a success
