How long is a spredder bar? Is there any reason that a carbon fiber arrow would not work? Would a fiber golf shaft work. I have never tested them but I'm sure eace could hod 50lb.+ before breaking.

The RR spreader bars are 39.5 and 28.5 inches. An arrow shaft would definitely break. Not sure about a golf shaft although I'd be wary of it. The stock poles and these poles both have solid diameters and feel pretty beefy. More so than either of the ones mentioned. The golf shaft especially might be a bit tough to fabricate with the necessary tips to fit onto the hammock.
Having said that, I'd love to hear if someone could get it to work successfully. I just won't be a beta tester for it.

Caution!! if you have purchased a set of these you might need to contact Josh about replacement of the inner connecting tube on the head end spreader bar. I had a failure of mine while sleeping in it on my recent AT section hike.

Happened to me about a month ago. The bars were replaced and had a thicker inner piece.

Anybody have a long term use update on these?
I know this is an old thread but somehow I completely missed it. I probably would have ordered these by now.
So I'm just curious about how many of you RR owners out there ended up getting a set of these?
Any concerns now that you have used them for a while?
Thanks

Got em. Love em
More than 15 nights with em in the woods so far.
Had originals carbon ones; but those were swapped out for thicker ones (smaller i.d.) by vendor. See earlier posts for details as i don't remember specs.
