It's all good EagleJ. Looking forward to hiking Uwharrie or Crowders sometime before summer's heat drives me to higher elevations.

The poles came in today....just over 5 ounces....nice fit and finish. I'm about 185 lbs and didn't notice any flex. Pretty expensive five ounce weight loss but I figure I'm worth it.

    Nice!

Definitely looking forward to mine. $20 an ounce is a bit pricey. Cheaper, though, per ounce than upgrading to a nice cuben tarp or other similar items.

Are you guys all getting the pole at the headend the length of all 3 aluminum pieces? I prefer only using the 2 longer poles at the head end and leaving out the short piece all together.

I know I got mine 39.5 which is the length of all 3 sections but made of 2 sections in CF. I'm sure he will make them up at any length you want. I personally prefer the longer length I just hated keeping up with that small section.

+1. Doing it that way also saves just a bit of weight over three pieces. And, no more having something slip apart while trying to assemble and then use.

I'm sure he'd just as easily make the head pole the length of just the two sections. Just make sure you're explicit with it or he may get confused with all the orders up to this point.

Poles came in today! Arrived exactly one week after I ordered them. Great service and a great product. +1 to what others have reported. Weight half as much, seem just as strong and have a nice fit/finish. I'd definitely recommend them to others.
