Danny, when we get up that way this summer I will be posting to see if there would be any interest in a hang on my friends 25 acres. It is located in the town of Frankfort at the foot of Mt. Waldo.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
....which isn't far from Acadia Nat. Park which I could use to entice my wife to attend the hang since it's her favorite spot in the country!

I'm in the midcoast area right now myself and would be interested in attending any hang going on later this summer. May be hiking & camping around moosehead lake in August (or a similar location).
Also looking at a 22 acre spread up in Franklin Co. to buy later this year and would love to sponsor a hang for any interested parties.
I'll keep an eye on this thread for more talk about when this one might happen.
McRat has a hang planned at Thomas Point Beach Campground in Brunswick, ME the 24th - 28th. Phenomenal hang spot, you guys would enjoy.
Last weekend of this month. April 26th-April 28th. I had mentioned trying to get an announcement together, but things went haywire. I have been advised attendance can only improve by giving more than 8 days notice.
Got another thread for it here.
Very interested in other Maine hangs as well.
Thomas Point Beach is right around the corner from me, and I work a mere three minutes away from the park. Unfortunately, with such short notice my work is also going to prevent me from attending this hang.
When I moved to Maine in April 2010 with my wife to be near her family, my first job was, incidentally, cleaning up the entire campground and beach area, which involved more raking than I've ever done in my entire life. There is no under growth and plenty of large trees there to tie off to, as they take meticulous care to keep the camping areas well pruned and safe for the public. If anyone has a million bucks laying around, I heard they're trying to sell the property.
It'll be much busier there later in the summer, but with at least a a few weeks notice (three or four would be better!) before the event I'd be able to schedule the time off. Bummer it's so close yet so far! I do believe they do group rates, though. When I was cleaning it the rates were $25 a day.
