fabric question

So I have noticed that my stuff sacks I made out of the leftovers of my ripstop are coming apart, fraying badly. I just cut the fabric, folded it over once, and stitched. After seeing this, I grabbed my hammock sock, it was made the same, but had not yet started self destructing. I took a lighter to the edges of the fabric on the sock, and am going to roll the seams and velcro straps another time or two and stitch again. Question is, do I need to worry about my no see um bugnet, as it was made the same, or will it not fall apart like this? Thx

I don't think your bugnet will fray like ripstop does. No worries. I use a wood burning tool to cut my ripstop. It heat seals the edge and won't fray. Therefore, I can make bags just as you did by simple turning under and stitching a hem.

+1 on cutting the ripstop with a hot knife/soldering iron/wood burning tool to seal the edges. Otherwise at least do a rolled hem so the raw edge isn't exposed.
