How 'bout we just quietly lead by example? I get plenty of questions when I hang, but I don't preach about it, I just let people that are interested check it out.

The bikini model bit does sound good, though!
Gee, I have never been known to preach! How about "educating the masses?" Does that sound better to you?! Some of us lead quietly and others of us lead loudly! I think we can all coexist...

    Manufacturers--what do you think?

I was wondering what some of the manufacturers think about this idea, and either submitting products and analysis for a book like this or sending gear for the would-be "Colin Fletcher" to use and review.

Do any of you have an opinion about the previous (run-on) sentance?

Great idea. It is a challenge to find all the info in one place. Produce it electronically and cheaply for one of the e-readers like Kindle or as a downloadable PDF for paypal purchase here.

got to agree with you there about the examples. during most of my hanging my friends took a look at it, said: can i try? got on and never got off =D soon i was telling them: only a few mintues or else i got no where to sleep, or you could get your own.

I think it would be good to have a nice, graphic illustration on the front cover that clearly shows the hammocker laying flat & comfortable on the soft hammock fabric.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I think that is a good idea...perhaps the sight of someone laying flat would intrigue those who have the misperception that hammocking has to = bannana into looking past the cover. I was also thinking about a picture of a hammock in a remote location and in a backpacking setting. But, I kind of like your idea of displaying the flatness more...sounds like the perfect picture for the BB, if all the rave reviews are on target!

So, this book will be written just as soon as folks are done developing ground breaking new concepts for hammock stuff, right?

Seems like someone comes up with something new every week!

Yes, Just Jeff would be an excellent candidate for author of the Hammockers Bible.

Good point! However, this just means Vol. II, III, IV...and so on!

Jeff has certainly introduced many folks to hammocking via his excellent site, including myself.

Does anyone have any other ideas for good authors of such a book? Are there any authors out there interested in this idea?
