That is the hardest part deciding on what hammock is right for you. I started out with a Hennessy Hammock and couldn't be happier. I didn't know if I would like hanging and it did take awhile to get use to. Maybe start out with a lower end hammock to see if you like the transition to hanging. You can always DIY as well. Lots of great information here. Glad to meet you.
It's an evolution, enjoy the journey!

Luckily, it's cheap to make a DIY hammock and try it out. I'm still using the first gathered end hammock I made last year. It's incredibly comfortable. Check out DIY Gear Supply for their hammock plans or Just Jeff's page for instructions.
Welcome.
My skills sewing and cutting a straight line are all but gone.... I have tried to gather as much information watching "Shug" in action. Videos are great and more information then I could ever imagine. Does Shug have a website with a list of the product he reviews? I am willing to jump right in and buy a recommended hammock...
This is the next great adventure!!!

Welcome from MA!
The Henessy Hammocks are a great starter hammock. It comes with the bug net and tarp. So it's ready to go straight out of the box. The Warbonnet Black bird is good too. Just be sure to order the tarp. Enjoy hanging!
