    Sleeping as a couple

Do you use your hammock to sleep with a s.o.? How do you do that? How wide is wide enough?

most experiences lead me to say... NO... snuggle in one hammock, probably hers so she is warm... then bail to separate ones to sleep... other wise your literally on top of one another, which is good for some things, but not so much for sleeping...

but hey try it out and let us know, just not to many details...

This has been discussed quite a few times before. The general consensus is that it isn't a good night's sleep. I think Brute1100 has the right idea.

Although, there are plenty of double rigs that allow two people to sleep side by side, in thier own space, but under the same tarp.

It seems like the better practice would be to find three trees close to each other in a sort of isosceles triangle. Feet together at on end on same tree, heads a little farther apart. You may even be able to share a large tarp, and at least talk to each other in a whisper.

I made a large DIY and have successfully and comfortably slept double. You do have to be comfortable sleeping close tho! I've been married 17 years, and my wife spends most nights sleeping half on top of me anyway. Just more comfortable in the hammock, for me anyway. Don't feel the need to re adjust position.

I would love to get the dimensions and specs on that DIY rig for the wife and I. We both lounge in the ENO doublenest (we're within the rating) on occasion but would like something just a hair bigger.

Hmmm... finally a situation where an extreme thigh-ridge in the hammock could be put to some good use?

Its just a double layer tablecloth, with the biggest blanks. sewed up with channels and all it ends up 11x7. Works for us!

    Sleeping as a couple

There's no way I would ever even try that... I can't get far enough away from my wife's freezing cold feet in our bed, not to mention she's a total blanket thief.

Although she's the definition of a helicopter-mom, so maybe it would work for her and the kid. To set her mind at ease and getting them out of the tent. The boy is already all about the hammock, but he could probably still manage to kick me hanging from different trees, plus he's a mini space heater. Keep mommy warm and stress free and they can kick each other all night, I'll finally get some sleep!
