Little Silver Dots make everything better?

For Christmas, my wife got me a Columbia OmniHeat jacket set. Two pieces, interchangeable, the second piece being a fairly heavy duty rain shell. I wear the inner piece ALL THE TIME. It is the best jacket I've ever owned. I can wear it outside in freezing temperatures and be comfortable. I can wear it inside and be comfortable. The thing moderates temperature fantastically well. And it breathes plenty, in case that was a concern with the little dots.

OmniHeat gets my seal of approval for sure.

Thank you for contacting us. Regretfully, we do not temperature rate our Omni-Heat Sleeping Bag Liner. That said sleeping bag liners in general will typically add 10+ degrees to a sleep system. Unless you have robust insulating layers I would only recommend using a stand alone sleeping bag liner for warm summer nights.

Nice to hear a reply back on the same day. While disappointed in the reply, I hope their 10 degree estimate is conservative, but if it isn't, I think that calls our little silver friends into question and makes me think they are more of a marketing gimmick than effective components of a insulating system.

On a side note, I've tried the reactor in summer conditions. Although warm enough, it didn't block wind very well. Crawling in/out of it instead of just flipping it off like a quilt could sometimes be a pain at night.

Thanks, did you try one in to augment your bag? If so what kind of success did you have?

Thanks for the links! But those were for sleeping bags, I'm interested in the sleeping bag liner, it's only 10 ozs. Since there is no wind resistance to the material, I'm thinking a removable shell of momentum, pertex or a light ripstop would help alot.
