Adjustable Ridgeline knots

I got my ENO DoubleNest on friday and I love it. I added an adjustable ridgeline this morning and love it even more. Only one problem. I used a figure 8 knot on one side and then looped through one carabiner and tied a taughtline hitch. The taughtline hitch keeps biting into the paracord and burning it somehow. So my question is, what knot should I use to replace the taughtline hitch or is the taughtline hitch the best knot to use?

First the para cord will not give you a structural ridge line. It has far to much stretch to work as a structural ridge line. You need a cord that has no stretch for this use. Second a splice will work much better and not slip when used as an adjustable line.

You want Dynaglide, Lash It, Zing It, or even Amsteel for the ridge line. All of the, are dyneema and won't stretch and all are spliceable lines. Or there are those of us with cottage shops that make adjustable ridgelines to order.

I make my adjustable ridge line as a woopi sling fixed loop at the other end then thread the suspension threw the loops. 7/32 amsteel or even zing it works great. I don't use much para cord.

Agreed. A whoopie made out of dynaglide, lash it or zing it is your best choice. I've used taut-line hitches with paracord only once in hammock situations and the friction of the forces on that particular knot does tear into the paracord (not to mentioned the stretch). IF I used paracord, I'd go with a trucker's hitch personally. But, the whoopies are the best solution here.
