    I want a Brazilian

I want a real Brazilian hammock. Where can I get one without having to go to Brazil?

I have one of these. It's huge, and very comfy. I think Knotty has one as well.

I have the one Gra_factor posted and LOVE it. So comfy and roomy. It is much longer than I thought it would be, but that's what makes it SO delightful to sleep in.

There are other, lighter-weight ones you might consider, but I can tell you I've been very happy with mine.

I am just goofing around with my reply.

I picked up my two Brazilian hammocks in San Fernando de Atabapo Amazonas Venezuela. It's not Brazil, but it's very close. I am sure you could still find one there if you asked around.

Traded a water purifier for the two of them, a soft cotton one and a warmer wool one - both came with mosquito nets.
That was 16 years ago and they are still in great shape.
They are great hot weather hammocks. They will let some cool air pass through them.

Then again, maybe an online purchase makes more sense.

It's about time these things started getting some play around here!

They are my favorite style of hammock and recently there have been a bunch of posts about them and more than a few PMs asking questions about them. I LOVE IT! Shame they're too heavy to backpack with, but it does make going home after a trip not quite as bad.
    Trust nobody!

I have one too and like it a lot. Question though -- it's so big that I get a lot of material flopping down on my head on the diagonal. I have a small pillow I use to keep it pushed back, but was curious if others had the same experience. Just average height -- not very tall.

I have two Brazilian Hammocks that my brother brought back form Brazil 10 years ago. They just sat around because I has no idea how to hang them or really lay in them the right way. Then I discovered Shuggs videos and became educated. Now I still enjoy them in my cool basement because no underquilt is needed. They are so prized a possession that I don't want to take them outside to get dirty or anything.

Maybe we should get Denis Bailey to buy one and ship it to us?
