A turtledog stand is cheaper than breaking the rental handyman built deck...
You COULD however, use it as one side of a turtledog stand.... There would be only vertical forces on the 4x4

What is the other end of the hammock going to attach to? A tree in the yard, another post?
If there were a tree at a 45 degree off the corner I would probably try a corner post. tie between the deck floor and the hand rail. I see 2x4's tying it all together as well as the top rail. Other than that probably not.
"As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement. For the Lord your God moves about in your camp..." Deuteronomy 23: 13,14
Just a guess, but are you thinking to hang across the corner? Do you plan to tie the suspension at the top of rail height? Worse case results would at first glance be that the foot of a post might kick out and the rail lay over. But, it might not. If the suspension is place that low, then there might be a tendency to hang a bit flatter than a 30 deg. angle, which would add to the lateral forces. Crazy or not, I would have to give it a try, quietly, without a camera.
