    What your out of the ordinary items you are bringing to the hang!

    Just a little curious - what are you bringing to make yourself comfortable!
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

    I just bought a Big Agnes Helinox chair for this season, and I bring my Kindle for reading. Nothing better than finding that good site, getting everything set up, and then kicking back and relaxing!

    I don't hear a lot about here, but I almost always bring my fishing gear. I mostly backpack up to some secluded lake here in Utah, and that extra 14 ounces is worth it every time!

    That's awesome!

    I've just recently purchased a 10.00 "pen rod" (got one on ebay shipping from America instead of China, got in under a week)

    One of the best reels I've used, I was blown away by the quality of the reel. The telescoping rod is a little jenky but for 10.00 it's more thann serviceable, not worried about breaking it but it's hard to screw the reel in until it's sitting JUST RIGHT.

    Definitely one of my fav "comfort" items. Nice to be able to do some legit fishing back-country on a whim. God forbid I got myself lost, at least I'd have that. They'd find me happy, comfortable and full.

    Tendertoe has got me eyeing those BA Helinox's though, but I can't stand thinking of adding another 2lbs to my pack.. but it's so SWEET. Gear envy

    Brought a deck of cards on a few trips. Everytime I bring them, I never use them. Everytime I leave them behind, I end up wishing I had brought them.

    Dice. Hours of entertainment. If you're a gambling man, you can play craps.

    Liar's Dice is immense fun as well. There are numerous variations.

    Then there are more advanced dice games as recounted in The Diceman by Luke Rheinhart. I highly recommend this book.

    Even better than dice is the pig dice game, Schweinerei, which I first played in Germany 30 years ago. They're now sold under the name Pass the Pigs:

    You would be surprised at how much entertainment you can get out of rolling pigs. Gram weenie approved!
