    Howdy!!!

Well, after lurking for awhile and perusing all of Shug's youtube videos, I have finally joined the forum. I've been interested in hammock camping for a few years now and am interested in getting back into backpacking. Ground sleeping is pretty much out of he question due to back issues, and hammocking seems to be the logical step.

Welcome! I had the same problem with back problems and camping. I've taken my SkeeterBeater on two trips now and loved every minute of it. This is a great forum with an amazing amount of info on hammock camping.

Welcome to bliss. Don't have back issues and hated sleeping on the ground so couldn't imagine what it would feel like if I did have issues.

Welcome to the madness. Hammocks have relieved pains that I didn't know were possible. I sleep in my hammock every night of the week. When I sleep in bed, on the ground, or on or in anything that is not my hammock I wake up with knee, or back pain, or a combination of them both. I am sure you will find comfort, as sure as I am you enjoyed shugs videos. Not only is this a nice hobby, but an equally nice site to be a part of. Welcome from guam.

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.

That's pretty awesome, greetings from Guam!

Thanks for the replies guys. I inadvertently left a couple of the youtube channels I have been subscribed to for a year or two now, watching all the fun being had without me.

Special thanks goes out to Wawhiker, spiffyguy, redoleary, babblefish5, and of course Shug for getting me addicted to a new hobby i haven't even tried yet! LOL

I'm a big fellow @ 6'2" and 300 lbs. Trying to lose some of that weight though.

Consider me a sponge, any advice helps.
