I have a quilted hammock that the stitching came apart where the fabric wraps around the spreader bar. (There are no ropes, only chains & hooks). I sewed it by hand with the heaviest thread I could find (it's too thick for my sewing machine), but the first time it was used by my teenagers claiming they did nothing out of the ordinary , it came apart again. Does any one have any suggestions as to how I can reattach the hammock to itself to make the pocket for the bar stronger? A glue? Another substance? A specific sewing stitch? I'm at a loss. Thanks!!
