My good buddy Anthony has suggested Nordhouse for the official spring hang.
Now, even though it's still 35 degrees out, my calendar does say it's spring so we have to get this planned.

There is a voting button at the top for the 4 different dates.

May 27th is Memorial day so people are prob busy that weekend of May 24.

May 17th works for me.

May 31st, June 7th or June 14th also is a possibility.

June 21 is officially summer so that's out....

Lets hear what everyone thinks and hope to have a big turnout.

PS.....unofficial spring fun is planned for April 19-21 doing the Jordan loop. Join if you can

I love heading out to Nordhouse every May, but unfortunately it may not happen this year with my wife and I moving...what a headache!

It always brings back good memories though. It was my first destination when I got into backpacking about 8 years ago. I had no idea what I was doing. I just bought a Kelty pack at Gander Mountain and used most of my regular camping gear. I was probably packing 40lbs!!! All the wrong gear, wrong food, too many clothes, etc. Forgot my compass and I didn’t know the area at all, so I took along the huge GPS system from my car to help. Wow!

I was just amazed though when I finally made it to the beach. What a sight...and sound!

Plus those Michiganders don’t seem to litter nearly as bad as us Hoosiers, so that’s always appreciated

I'd love to go to this. Hopefully it will work out! Haven't really been 'backpacking' yet though I have all stuff it seems. Good time as any to get my feet wet!

oh boy....i like june 7th with the back up weekend on june 14th if there is heavy rain in the forecast

Wish I could get in on this one, because I love Nordhouse, but by the looks of it, the 7th is the date. My 14 yo daughter and I are leaving that weekend for a Pictured Rocks-NCT backpacking trip and won't be back until the 13th. Looking forward to having some one on one time with her before she starts high school in the fall. They sure do grow up fast. 5 days on the trail will be our longest trip together yet and it's just us doing it!

June 7th will work for me. Getting my april trip nailed down, now just need to find one for May. My quest for getting out at least once a month all year is coming together.
