    Bit the bullet

I was 50-50 between these guys and a jungle hammock. I did not see any horrible reviews on DD hammocks and thats what decided me. I got the hammock and a shirt the other day, no time to hang IN it, but i managed to get it open in the basement and hang it off some stuff. Very well done, it immediately saved me a ton of pack space by ditching the poly tarp.

Congrats, hope you enjoy it, was it just a hammock and a shirt you got or did you get a tarp too?

I got the 3 x 3 tarp as well and a giant snake skin for the hammock. I have enough nylon left from my DIY to make a skin for the tarp.

Nice, I have the 4x4 tarp and it really is HUUGE! heavy as well though so I made a diy winter tarp that weighs less than half the dd, will still get used as a loaner and for group shelter though .

Side note, how well does the 3x3 stuff into the supplied sack? The 4x4 requires a LOT of effort so it is much easier just to fold it...

I like my free tshirt a lot, I find it very comfortable.

The plan is to sneak out tomorrow for a hike and afternoon nap. I'll have more answers and pics then.

As promised I got out and did a test run. Then the heavens teased a bit and then let loose as I was on my way out. Its been raining for almost 5 hours straight. Good new is the new rain jacket is awesome. Outdoor Research Foray.
