Looking to start my Hammock career! (Windsor, Ont.)

Hey everyone! I was recommended to come to this site by someone on reddit, and it seems like a great site! I'm just finishing my school for the summer, so i'm planing to start getting out and trying the hammocks. I can't wait to start exploring (and watching the starry nights!)

If anyone has some basic tips, or anything they would like to share, I'm all ears. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to the Forums from Toronto...

Step One: Watch Shug's Hammock How-To videos... He goes over all the basics and is a one-of-a-kind character.

Step Two: Get out there and do some hanging!!!

Welcome from a fellow Ontario Hanger in Ontario.

As for basic tips, be sure to watch the video series from Shug on Hammock Hanging for Noobs.

Use non stretch materials for your hammock.
Never hang your hammock higher than you are willing to fall.

    Go forth and have fun.

    Cheers

I settled on using nylon webbing for my primary suspension. Its strong light and cheap!

Before you go buy any nylon webbing... know that it will stretch... buy some polyester straps... you can find cheap tie-down straps with 1" polyester strap material...

Works much better than nylon... which will let you down... just slowly...
