I am tempted to roll the dice on this one. I need a cheap starter tarp. If nothing else, it will be a good backyard tarp to use with my boys. It should be big enough to fit a couple hammocks under.

I just got mine in the mail today. That was quick, I thought it would be a few more days or even a week since I did get in on the free shipping.

1st thoughts on the tarp. It is LARGE much larger then I thought I would be getting. I remember when the guide gear square tarps first started showing up the size on the web site was the measurements diagonally and everyone thought they were getting more tarp then they got. Well that is not the case here this tarp is 14 X 11 and it is a true Hammock style cut tarp or a catanary(SP) style cut.

2nd thought on the tarp man this is a big tarp! Oh I already said that okay so second thought it is not all that heavy once you drop the poles. The tarp alone is 1 lbs 5.6 oz that is no tie-outs no stakes no bag and no poles.

3rd thought was that the tarp material is not bad but it is a little lighter fabric then what you would expect for a tarp. It is not a ripstop more of a tent fly material.

And the last thought was that the pull-outs and ridge tie-outs were very poorly stitched and I would not trust them in a good breeze for long.

All and all I definitely got my moneys worth and may buy another to play around with. At this price you could buy a half dozen of these and just replace them if they break(of course you would be with out the tarp until you got home to get another out of the gear closet!)

Oh please let them not leak like a sieve. I ordered two and would hate to waterproof right out of the box. On the flip side, I'm giddy over the size. I can hang a two-fer under that sucker!

That is a lot of tarp. As long as it respectably holds off the water I will be in for one. Perfect for multiple hammocks while camping with the family.

I hesitated yesterday when the free shipping code did not work. I will wait hear of your sprinkler test before I make my order.

Many times if you go to Google and do a search for coupon codes you can find something usable. Supposedly, code BF1484 will give you free shipping with no minimum order.

If you're purchasing $49.00 or more, then there is a free shipping offer listed on their home page - always check their homepage before buying. The code for that is BH197.

These are the sites I checked, via my Google search, for codes to find the free shipping. There's several different codes available for various items, but I can't guarantee any of them work. Be sure to check your total before making payment.
