    Can't sleep HH Explorer

I'm a side and stomach sleeper and can't seem to get to sleep in my hammock. I do pretty good by the third night on a trip, but overnighters I will toss and turn trying to get to sleep. I am comfortable on my back but can't get a good nights rest.

I have been thinking about trying a wbbb because I hear they are better for side sleepers. Any truth to this? I'd also like as light as possible. Has to hold my 265lbs as well. Any others I should look at?

At 265lbs in a bridge hammock? I'd contact Warbonnet first, I'm willing to bet they'd steer you elsewhere.

Unless I'm willing to put in the miles, I don't usually get a decent night's sleep until around the third night. It was the same back in ground dwelling days. Not having to wake up from a restless night's sleep, crawling around on the ground, for the first couple nights, however is a beautiful thing

I roll around a lot when I sleep, and I find the DangerBird by Papa Smurf at Dream hammocks to be a wonderful hammock.

Papa Smurf has a great chart under Fabrics to help determining what weight a fabric can hold, just remember it's a guide. a Double Layer Ridgerunner is rated a 250lbs, I think that's based off a 1.1/1.9 ripstop system, so the OP would be over it's rated limit. A custom ordered Double Layer 1.9/1.9 ripstop Ridgerunner could work. Of course contact Warbonnet to see if they would make one up.

I've tried all kinds of hammocks over the years--------at 6'5" 240 lbs, and really broad shoulders, the only thing that works for me is a bridge hammock! Try the warbonnet RR-------I believe its rated to 250 lbs, but there was a post recently where brandon beefed up the spreader bars for some one and it was good to 275 lbs? https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...t=ridge+runner Anyway, its my go to hammock, and probably will be for many years to come!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I'm a side sleeper and I got a 11 ft firebird from dream hammocks and it made sleeping much easier. The extra foot made all the difference.

    +1

I never sleep very well my first night out. I'm comfortable, but I just can't stay asleep. The second night is always much better.
