    Blackbird 1.1 double layer

I am fairly new to hanging however I feel I have come a long long way. I started out using my insulated pad and it only kept my back warm down to about 50 degrees.

I purchased the warbonnet blackbird 1.1 double layer hammock along with the 20 degree yetti underquilt and the Mamba 20 degree top quilt.

I live in Atlanta and most of my backpacking is on the AT in North Ga and NC below the smokeys. I am not planning on hiking in the winter months.

The temps should go down to mid 30s I am assuming the lowest in my hikes.

Any other tips I may need to pack with me in addition? Foam in the footbox or is this set up efficient to keep me warm?

I also went ahead and picked up the mama jamba tarp to go with it.

Still waiting on everything to be delivered from Brandon, the warbonnet guy.

Also how comfortable is this hammock?

I LOVE my BB. Most comfortable gathered-end hammock available, in my opinion (and I've tried quite a few).

That setup should do you very well! to go down to the 30's, you'll definitely need foam in the footbox to keep you warm from the knees down. Many recommend a 2'x2' square, but you can experiment to see what works best for you.

Really, there isn't anything else needed from the hammock standpoint for your conditions. You may use it and find small things you want to improve and can come back to the forums with specific questions on those. That setup should get you rolling nicely, though! I have a full-length Incubator UQ, but I sure do like the look of those Yeti's.

It is a comfortable and well outfitted hammock for sure.
I would recommend a small pad under your feet.
    I offer this video.

Thanks everyone, Shug, I am a fan of your vids and honestly watching your blackbird video is what introduced me to it.

I don't think I would survive 1 winter up in MN living in a house, let alone a hammock.

As far as the foam, can I purchase it at home depot? Is it a specific type of foam for better insulation?

Most any closed cell foam will work. I'd recommend a blue sleeping pad from Walmart. Cheap, readily available and you'd have enough from one pad to cut several different food pads to experiment with size.
