Darkbyrd, thanks for the video. That OP said in the comments that the whoopie failed at 1531 lbs. 1531/1600=0.96% That's just 4% derating.
YW DM. I remembered seeing it while cruising Kris' youtube channel for splicing videos. I've always heard 1600# for 7/64ths whoopies, and have been following this thread with interest.

I've had over 400 lbs in my hammock using (at different times) 7/64 Amsteel UCRs and whoopies. I also tried hanging between trees that were too far apart, so the angle of hang was pretty shallow.
The braiding where the bury exited ended up very stretched out and deformed. The individual strands looked fine. You'll be fine on 7/64, but stay close to the steeper hang angles so you don't ruin the looks of the whoopie sling.
