    Adding tree huggers?

I have no idea. I thought I could remove the suspension that comes with it put in some tree huggers and call it a day! I wish I could find a group hang around here so I could actually have someone help me. The more I read on here the more confused I get! "It's easy! Just pop on a whoopdeedoo tie yourself a slippery marlin diggley bob, run it through the washer toss on a self tensioning knot..." I think my head will explode the first time I actually put it up!

    Adding tree huggers?

Here is the end of my hammock if that helps matters at all. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366457230.455973.jpg
DD says that I just tie those two bits of webbing around a tree "like tying my shoes"...this just doesn't sound like a good idea. So can I take those webbing pieces out and put tree huggers in?

From what I've seen it will soak up a lot of water and transfer it to the hammock, therefore most like to change it or at least add a water break.
Would changing to tree huggers stop the hammock from getting wet like that?

    Hi Dutch253.
Maybe this Video will help you. There you can see a modification on the suspension that will stop the rain coming down the webbing and soaking your hammock. It also explains how to set up the hammock:

Closer look at the carabiner MOD:

Sorry I'm such a raving noob but I would remove the thick black webbing from the ends of my hammock and attach the whoopie along there? This would also give me a nice taught ridgeline?

Yes, that's of course the easiest way =)
I would also recommend the Whoopiesling All-In-One-System and some climbing carabiners, if you don't want to make knots.
(Thats the way I set up my hammock, too.)

But if you don't want to (or are not able to) spent the money for the whoopies, the method with the carabiner mod would be cheap and (I think) easy too.
