The Traveller Lite is a very economical way to go obviously. Take a hard look at the Byer of Maine Easy Traveller too. Better material, includes the micro rope hanging system, and still keeps you within your budget. $44.95 for hammock and hanging system!

You could probably buy two for less than 50$ shipped by shopping around. A quick google search and I found two for less than 20$.

Another option would be to make your own. DIY'ing a gathered end hammock is pretty easy. Order some 1.1 rip stop nylon and have at it.

so don't limit your research by $$ alone

the previous posters who suggested visiting a hanging event are RIGHT ON

you might even rob the piggy bank & take what available funds you can scrape up
I'd like to add to this. I am a broke full time student with 4 kids. After the family has taken their share of the funds, there is little to no funds left for me to get new or upgraded gear. But what I do is just put alittle away here and there. Sometimes its just $10 a week, that I can put away but I am always putting money away and forgetting about it. Every few months I check the funds and see what I have to work with. That is how I have been getting all my gear and upgrading existing gear.

Another thing I do alot is make my own gear. Me and my wife now own a set of 16oz 800 fill Goose-Down TQs, that I made. Just the materials ran me close to $300. So I had to save for months and months before I could swing it. But it paid off and I ended up saving alot of money in the process.

My point being is if you take your time and save some money up over time you can get something that you really want vs settling for what you can afford. You can always use your tent until you can afford the hammock shelter system that you really want.
