    On A DIY Binge

Lets see, the last couple of weeks. It started off with the Gemini Underquilt "Pollux" is finished, and "Castor" was on hold until a second color of KAM snaps came in.

From there it progressed to a structural ridge line, a couple of whoopie slings, some new zing it guy lines with spliced eyes at each end, some continuous loops and a dog bone from some scrap Amsteel.

Since there is no trees in my back yard, there will be a hammcock stand in the near future as well, that way I can stop using the front yard for testing it all.

Give it time. Next will be hammocks, then tarps, then from scratch quilts, eventually you’ll start looking at backpacks, wind shirts, and other stuff. Good luck.

May I suggest getting into the DIY stuff sack game. You will never, ever find complete satisfaction.

Also, dare I even say it, alcohol stoves.

A year ago I needed enough Kam Snaps to do a set of Costco quilts...so I ordered enough to do about 10 sets....not sure why, it's an addiction. Plus it was like Pokemon with the colors....gotta catch em all!

    Also noted items to DIY...
Ridgeline organizers (that can double as stuff sacks for the hammock...bonus)
Suspension (must buy Amsteel...it comes in multiple colors AND sizes)

    To late...

Already done made 2 of dem'der fancee feast or whatever name you wish to call them. this one is all Shugs fault... I was content with my Bruton canister stove, or the MSR Multifuel, or the Esbit, or a campfire. or for car camping, the Discada, the Coleman multi fuel, or the Coleman white gas stove, or one of Two propane 2 burners stoves not to mention the single burner for boiling or frying along with a few different grills and smokers....

uhhh, I think I might have a stove problem... yep I sure do... the tandoori oven is broken and needs to be rebuilt.; Yes I have a tandoori oven I made from 3 flower pots and it will get over 900 degrees on a handful of charcoal.

Ooo yea back to the alcohol stove(s)... It was when Shug pointed out that they where silent compared to the MSR multi fuel or canister stoves. that I got to thinking that was a something I could enjoy using after all.

but building my own gear has been a life long pursuit, and not just outdoor gear.
