If you hike East to West it will be mostly uphill on the way in and down hill on the way out and you can hang your hammocks just about anywhere. Got to love that.

In another month Golden Gate State Park has some great hikes with views. They have undeveloped camp sites that work well for hammocks.
Some good suggestions, especially the CT. Forgot about that (and about Buena Vista area - very pretty there).

Golden Gate, though - it's been my experience that state parks in Colorado don't allow anything on the trees. Isn't that the case with Golden Gate or are they more lax there? (Hoping for the latter - I'm headed there in a month and was planning to bring a stand but would love it if I could hang on the trees).
