Help Rigging JRB Greylock to WB Ridgerunner

Trying to setup my Greylock 3 to my just acquired WBRR and I have a question:
I am attempting to utilize some Dutch Quilt clips and 3/32" shock cord to anchor the quilt to the spreader bar mounts.
The question arises - Has anyone done this and have a rough idea of where to start for length of the shock cord from the quilt to the spreader bar mounts? I realize I will need to do some personalization to dial it in but I would like to save some time (and a trip to the fabric store for cord locks.)
Related Question: Do I abandon the saddle bags with this setup or can they hang over the quilt with junk in them and not create a gap?
Thanks in advance for your sage input.

Sorry - I should have put this post in the Underquilts Section - If the mods want to move it that would be great.

How did it go? Researching UQ options for my "new to me" WBRR...

This is not a Greylock, but a JRB MW3 short. I guess the suspensions are different? Anyway, here is how I put it on a RR, worked fantastic:

I actually copied BillyBob's idea by setting up some shock cord with cord locks and doing the crossover at the foot end. It worked great but I find that I am not a peaceful sleeper and the footpad thing just wasn't working for me. I picked up a Lynx about a month ago and there is no going back. It's fiddle free, light and warm.

If you need I could see if I still have my shockcord rigging and I could maybe setup my ridgerunner tomorrow and snap some pics - Let me know.

So is BillyBob's idea the way to go? I just ordered my Ridge Runner and I already have a Greylock. The RR is supposed to arrive on Wednesday and I leave for my trip on Friday. I don't have a lot of wiggle room to figure out a solution if this idea isn't the best. Anybody else have any thoughts?

Call the Jacks at JRB. They will talk with you at length to try and answer your questions, and I'm sure they know better than any one about Greylocks(GL) on WBRR. My system seemed to work perfectly. But I think my JRB MW3 convertible/short might not have the same suspension as your Greylock. Mine has Grosgrain loops on each end ( left and right) and I am able to cross over with the shock cord from left side hammock spreader bar end to the right grosgrain loop on the UQ, and vice versa.

Does your GL have this kind of suspension ( the traditional/original JRB suspension) or does it have what I call a perimeter suspension, where the suspension goes through channels on the side of the UQ? I can't say if my way would work with that type or not. But if it won't, I bet just getting the UQ tight enough on the hammock will work well enough. I hope you get it early enough to experiment some at home.

You can see me hooking a Yeti on the RR on this video at 7:00 in. Would work the same with a Greylock.
    Carry forth.
