I decided to save some money for a short period of time and go to sleep! Haha.

Looking at the incubator 20, burrow 20, and the standard cuben fibre tarp with doors all from Hammock Gear of course. I've decided synthetic is too bulky for my needs and down is the way to go.

I could not agree more.
One thing that has helped me stay within one gear closet is to sell off some old gear whenever I buy some new gear. Another is increasing the density of items in the gear closet. ; )

The secret to justifying expensive gear is consider the usage and time the gear is held. I had bought in 1980 some expensive sigg pots (Vintage now I hear) that still work well today. With Hammock Gear products, and with love and care, you can use them for a decade at least. That translates to pennies when you do the math compared to other products that get sold later on the road at a loss. Just sayin...

I believe I no longer have to worry about spending my money as it seems the wife has spent it all on new glasses and contact lenses. Haha.

The bits I want will have to wait until my birthday then I suppose! Ah well, it's less then a month away so not so bad.

My only concern is that I have totally no experience with down, all I know is that it seems to be more compressible and lighter for it's warmth rating than synthetic.
It seems quite a rare commodity over here. Much like many other things seem to be too, in comparison to the US. :/

I bought a down jacket this winter, it weighs 300g (a hoody weighs around 5-600g) and is honestly the warmest piece of clothing I've ever owned. The dwr finish on the fabric actually does a decent job of keeping light rain out of the down as well.

It certainly isn't as common and is more expensive, there is less manufacturers over here, UKhammocks is the only place you can get hammock specific down quilts.

It's maybe partly to do with our weather (wetter and much less extreme winters) and maybe because of the lack of wild camping in england so most people will be car camping and not need lightweight gear?
