Hello everyone,
Life long camper and hiker. Got into Backpacking (overnight) in the last couple years so I am still a bit new. I am interesting in getting into hanging. To be totally honest I had never really given it any thought though I have seen it often till my wife mentioned it. I am wanting to introduce here to backpacking. She has been concerned about sleeping on the ground and noticed information in my backpacker magazine on hammocks. She said what about a hammock? She ask if I ever used one to which I said know but I like the idea. So started the research that led me to this forum. This is a great resource!! I love the DIY stuff as well. Well that is my story.

Welcome Steven,

As said many times before, the Ohio hangers get together usually every month somewhere. It's usually a very casual open invitation sort of thing, you'd be welcome to come out and visit even if you don't plan an overnight, that way you could check out the gear and ask questions. Just search for "Ohio" and "hang" there will usually be a planning thread going all the time for the next hang.

This is true, and you should. I've been at it for 3 years and I still learn a new trick or idea every hang I go to. You'll have a blast I'm sure
